We are excited to have launched The Watersheds! There is a lot of water collection that occurs across the US. While much of this is occurring on public lands, few people are able to discover the “who,” “what,” and “where” of public water claims. While this is a matter of public record, we aim to make it a matter of a simple search to answer all these questions and more!
You may be aware of certain water collection activity that you do not find on The Watersheds. Most likely, this is because that water collection is taking place on private land and not under management of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). All the data that we display is managed and released by the BLM.
We hope to see you again soon. Like everything else, there is a major element of time in these claims. New claims open. Old claims close. Desirable claims may change hands.
